6-Notes on Sunday

Hi there!

Here is your weekly dose of “6-Notes on Sunday,” a list of ideas, products, episodes, quotes, exercises, and more that we believe are worth sharing.

Prep for the big game
To prepare you for when you might be in high-pressure situations (like Natties coming up) we revisit Petra’s blog for two quick mental toughness tips. For those of you starting your offseason, Petra also shares a way to access your mental game by completing your performance profile.

Get started with a gratitude journal —
Last week we shared the importance of journaling with great response – here is a guide to a gratitude journal (an excellent and simple way to start and be consistent with journaling).

ICYMI on Slack: Defunk your cleats —
David Conlon shared this spray on the #favoritethings channel as a way to keep your cleats and gear from stinking up the place.

Be a better writer —
Here are two can’t live without tools (Grammarly & Hemingway) we love to use to help us edit documents and our writings. They aren’t perfect but much better than spell check.

Find interesting places around you —
This site lists odd and exciting landmarks throughout the world and offers the stories behind them. It’s cool to search in your own neck of the woods or find places to explore on trips. Some landmarks are pretty well-known while others are very obscure – we recommend clicking the random places link or searching the world map.

What is Chi? —
This article examines the differing Chi energies and offers tips on how to find your balance. Believe it or not, balance in life and at work and home is excellent to strive to achieve, even though it feels like it is always just out of reach.

Please give us feedback and offer suggestions by replying to this email or reaching out on Facebook or Instagram.

Wishing you an amazing week!

Extra Note: Off-Season principle —
Do more of what you are bad at and less of what you are good at.  Too often athletes want to only do what they enjoy and what they are good at. The off-season is the time to work on your weaknesses so that you can come into your next season “better than ever. Know your strengths and weaknesses through assessments.
