6-Notes on Sunday

Hi there!

Here is your weekly dose of “6-Notes on Sunday,” a list of ideas, products, episodes, quotes, exercises, and more that we believe are worth sharing.

Our favorite Instagram post from this past week
The MP team traveled to the east coast to compete in the Ocean City Beach Classic. We had an amazing time on the beach and with the team. Check us out in our gorgeous new kits from BE Ultimate.

The importance of recovery after a big peak —
We wanted to bring this clip from the TAP episode with Petra back to remind everyone about the importance of getting into a recovery state after a big tournament – you know, like Nationals. It’s actually not uncommon for athletes to feel depressed or low because of how high they get during big competitions. Michael Phelps even says he contemplated suicide after the 2012 Olympics.

Listen, Listen, Listen —
We liked this challenge from the team at XPT to be a better listener. This article shares a simple tool to help strengthen your listening skills.

Try this tomorrow—
Here is a simple Monday (weekly) ritual to get more clarity and focus for your week.

Let your voice be heard —
MP’s very own COO and curator of 6-Notes, Jimmy Donnellon, has been named a candidate for the USA Ultimate 2019 Board of Directors. Voting starts this week – we invite you to vote or reply with any support and questions.

Can’t get enough of these two —
A few weeks ago we encourage you to purchase Brene’ Brown’s new book “Dare to Lead” – here is Brene’ explaining the key points in the book and how there is no courage without vulnerability. We also can’t recommend the podcast “Finding Mastery” enough. Here is a great episode with AT&T’s CEO, John Donovan.

Wishing you an amazing week!
