I’m a youth player with my first tournament of the year coming the last week of February. I saw the program planner told me I should’ve started about a month earlier to peak before the season, so should I just start on program zero and peak later?
I play club, so i’m not a complete noob to ultimate, but I haven’t had much experience training/lifting so any tips would be fantastic!

    Thanks!

    Brandon,

Nice to see young upcoming athletes keen to adopt MPFPT!

When you said peak for the season, you basically mean the start of regular training with your club team, right? Or is it your first tournament?
Have a look at the date of your first tournament and work back from there.

Being less experienced in training just means you have lots of room to grow, so grow! Hop onto Program.Zero, watch the lectures and understand all the fundamental concepts behind the MP philosophy. Always ask questions.

Don’t worry so much about whether you are at your perfect best you ever can be cause frankly nobody ever is haha! Just. Keep. Improving.

    Brandon,

Agree with Zi here. As a youth player that started adopting MPFPT principles in my training when I was 16 (22 now), I think Zi is right when he keeps it simple and suggests to just get started.

The high school season is long…especially if you’re also going to play club (and YCC I’m assuming) right after your high school season ends. You might not be in your peak shape for that first tournament, and that’s ok because your “in-season” essentially lasts from that tournament until club nationals in September.

    Keep crushing it,
    Jonah
